Vineyards Country Club has named Tom Metzger, PGA, Director of Golf Emeritus, honoring more than three decades of leadership and stewardship of the club’s golf program. The designation, reserved for select professionals whose careers have helped define the clubs they serve, reflects a legacy of vision, service and excellence, while enabling Metzger to remain an active, ongoing presence through teaching and mentorship.
“Tom’s leadership has helped create the exceptional experience our members value today,” said Paul Malonson, Vineyards Country Club chief operating officer. “We’re honored that he will continue sharing his passion for the game while helping preserve the traditions that define our club.”
Metzger joined Vineyards Country Club in August 1995 and has played a central role in building its golf operations and overall member experience. A PGA member since 1987, he is a South Florida Golf Hall of Fame inductee and former Southwest Florida Chapter president (2007–2009).
“Tom’s mentorship, energy and longstanding commitment to professionalism have shaped the legacy and culture of our club,” said Michael J. Procacci Jr., co-owner and board chair. “We are deeply grateful for his years of service and for the standard of excellence he has established.”
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Metzger has also made a significant impact through his philanthropic leadership. He has spearheaded beneficiary events at Vineyards Country Club that have raised more than $450,000 for Folds of Honor, supporting educational scholarships for the families of fallen and disabled military service members.
