Naples, Fla. (November 12, 2019) – The Wellness Center and Spa at Vineyards Country Club received the South Florida Hospitality Industry Network (NEWH) 2019 Golden Palm Award for excellence at its annual gala held Friday, October 25 in Key Biscayne.

The Golden Palm Awards are the highest accolades given by the NEWH each year in recognition of hospitality and design industry excellence. With 24 chapters in the US and internationally, NEWH is the premier networking resource for the hospitality industry, providing scholarships, education, leadership development, recognition of excellence, and business development opportunities.

“Our Wellness Center and Spa is a beautiful new facility which encourages Vineyards Country Club’s culture of lifelong wellness,” said Paul Malonson, Vineyards Country Club Chief Operating Officer. “We are pleased to receive this prestigious award from NEWH.”

The facility was nominated for the award by interior design partner Peacock + Lewis Architects and Planners.

The 15,000 square foot Wellness Center and Spa is located moments from the community’s clubhouse and offers a variety of amenities and services to promote well-being. The Life Fitness showroom facility provides an atmosphere conducive to a comfortable and personalized workout experience, with wellness programming, cardiovascular and strength training equipment; functional training; physical therapy, cycling and floor exercises; personal training, small group training and fitness classes; as well as Café V, a Blue Zones-approved café serving healthy shakes, smoothies and healthy menus to accommodate all palates. The main fitness floor was designed with floor to ceiling glass to provide views to the short game practice area and to provide a connection to the outdoor environment and allow natural daylight into the space.

The facility was recently designated one of America’s Healthiest Clubs allowing for long-term, sustainable growth and resulting in a major attraction for new members. A central rotunda and cyber cafe serves as a central gathering area with natural daylight and interior landscaping to relax and enjoy a snack or drink after training in the pool or fitness center, or after spa/salon treatments.. It provides central access to the fitness center, spa/salon, and the fitness aquatics.

“The inspiration for the finishes and décor palette for the spa was a connection of indoors to outdoor natural environment with calming earth tones of sand and sea,” said Migena Gace, Peacock + Lewis’ Director of Interior Design. “Accent mosaic glass tiles were used throughout the spa area to create a chic and sophisticated feel.”

The spa features an innovative salt room with illuminated Himalayan salt bricks and salt vapor infusion in a lounge setting to facilitate improved health and mood. The wet lounges for both women and men were designed as restorative, relaxation spaces before and after treatments with stone feature walls of white birch honed limestone. The women’s and men’s spa lounges and common areas are separated by custom designed frosted glass representing the spa theme of the club.

The facility’s focal walls are decorated with beautiful watermark abstract artwork, bringing the feel and sound of water through the spa area. The inspiration for the finishes and décor palette for the spa is a connection of the indoor and outdoor natural environment with calming earth tones of sand and sea.

Off the reception rotunda and cyber café, linking the fitness offerings to the spa, a waiting lounge was designed to provide a serene space for those anticipating appointments, mentally preparing patrons for the upcoming salon and spa treatments.

In addition to the halotherapy salt room, the spa offers services such as massage therapy treatments, body treatments and facials by Naturopathica; a couples spa suite; a private manicure and pedicure boutique; full service salon and makeup studio; men’s barbershop services; locker rooms with dry sauna and whirlpool; and a heated, outdoor saltwater half-Olympic size lap pool.
